Every child needs an opportunity to realize their potential. Peace Passage Skating Club is proud to provide an avenue for children to participate in fun and fitness while developing skating fundamentals.

Organization coach, Amanda Thomas says Pace Passage Skating Club provides their kids with more than just an ice rink. “They are able to go out and have fun, they can skate for exercise and they can skate to obtain goals. Lots of our kids will compete in competitions, which feeds that need to succeed,” she explains.

Northern districts like Taylor offer a special connection to the community that you really only see in small town, says Thomas. “It’s more of a family. Everyone knows everyone, everyone takes care of everyone and everyone takes care of the kids. The best part of Taylor is its community feel,” she explains.

“We pretty much just live at the arena but we do consistently use a few other shops in town,” says Thomas. “We’ll get our sewing supplies and patterns from places like Crafty Folks Ent. or Sew it Yourself.” “Black Cat catering stocks our concession. We like them because they keep us fed,” she laughs.

"Each year we have two big events, Totem is held in rotation between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John and is a great skate competition for our girls and boys," says Thomas.

Amanda invites everyone in Taylor to come down to support the annual ice show at the end of March. It's always a great time to come see what our kids have been up to!
