Meet Lisa Folk
Lisa loves living in Taylor and feels that people really look out for one another and support each other. “There is a sense of family in a small town that transcends bloodlines,” she said, “you have a history with those surrounding you that gives a sense of security and support you can’t find easily anywhere else.”
Lisa, together with her husband Brian, opened Crafty Folks in 2006. “I have always been a crafter and artist and teaching what I know is something that comes very natural to me,” said Lisa. She loves seeing the look on a client’s face when they learn to do something they did not think they could do. Lisa is proud of the selection of classes they offer and of the wide variety of items they have in stock.
Lisa feels that the businesses in Taylor work together to ensure the area has a good selection of complimentary goods and services. “We are all supporting each other and sending customers their way if we can’t help them,” Lisa explained, “this keeps us all in business.” She has noticed more new businesses starting up and credits the lower overhead costs and a community that supports shopping local.
