Meet Roxanne Chmelyk
Roxanne Chmelyk has always had a flair for creativity. Throughout the years she has done a variety of jobs that put her creativity to work: hair styling, sewing wedding clothing and accessories, and using the scraps and remnants from her sewing to make dolls, baskets, cushion tops, wall hangings and many other items to sell at craft fairs.
Her introduction to the business world started within multilevel marketing. It turned out that, in addition to being artistic, she was an excellent sales person. Those early experiences paved the way for her other ventures and eventually to starting her own interior design business, which she has been operating since 1986. It combined the best of visual artistry with her sales skills and helped her to grow her business over the years and develop a strong reputation in the community. She is quick to credit her customers who have been so supportive, many of them coming to her over and over again for three generations.
Roxanne chose Taylor as her home and as the place to operate her business because of all it had to offer. Its affordable cost of living is one of its big appeals. Its access to the outdoors is another. It has a wonderful, rural feel but is close to shopping and important services. Though Roxanne’s business keeps her extremely busy, she likes to get out and enjoy everything the area has to offer, particularly if it involves going for a walk in the fresh air.
