Meet Manager Courtney Rogers

Brothers Curtis and Shane opened The Shed Health and Fitness in 2011. The location was originally a framed cold storage shed. Curtis put some insulation in it and it was for many years just a clubhouse of sorts. When the CBC TV Show Village On A Diet came to Taylor, Curtis offered up The Shed as a place for kickboxing work outs and fitness training. "We put some equipment in there," explained Curtis, "and we decided to improve it and we've continued ever since."

Curtis, Shane and their sister Kerry expanded The Shed with a bigger addition. They installed running water, bathrooms, showers, heated floors, the swipe pass system and purchased more equipment. The Rogers family see the business as a community asset and are committed to keeping it running. It is a true family operation with Curtis' daughter, Alissa along with good family friend Tracy running the day-to-day operations.

Curtis moved to Taylor in 1983. "Our kids were born and raised here," said Curtis, "it's the greatest place ever." Curtis, his wife and kids have all been active in their community over the years, participating in everything from the fire department to curling to skating to tee-ball and more. Curtis feels Taylor is a family-oriented community with lots of local recreational opportunities. The Rogers brothers have lots of family nearby, with their mom and their grown kids living in Taylor. "Everybody knows everybody here," said Curtis, "it's a good small town that has everything you could need close by."
