Critter Comfort Kennel

Pet Supplies & Services

Critter Comfort Kennel has been looking after Taylor’s four-legged community members for many years. Cats and dogs are both warmly welcomed and can stay as long as they need. The environment is clean, safe, calm, and fun, “leaving your pet begging to come back for more.”

Critter Comfort Kennel takes that extra measure to ensure your pet is secure with separate common areas for large breed dogs, small breed dogs and cats. Socialization is encouraged, in a safe manner, with behavioural testing prior to interactions and alternating excursions.

With over 20 acres and plenty of groomed trails during all seasons, your dogs will have ample opportunity to burn that excess energy and rest peacefully at night. There are even options to provide extra pampering for your pooch. Therapeutic massages can relieve an assortment of ailments and can benefit any dog at any stage of life. Grooming services are also offered and will have your pet greeting you with a fresh and happy face.

After your first visit, it will be clear that Critter Comfort Kennel exemplifies expert animal care. Honesty is of the utmost importance to Leona, and customers can expect full disclosure regarding their beloved pet’s behaviour. “We are very sensitive to your pets needs.”

Meet Leona MacGregor

Meet Leona MacGregor

Leona, along with her husband, uprooted their lives in Nova Scotia to make a go for themselves in British Columbia back in 2000. They chose to settle in the Peace region, eventually purchasing a large acreage in the quaint and quiet community of Taylor. After a couple of kids, Leona wanted a career that allowed her to remain present in her children's lives, not wanting to miss important events. With her family in mind along with her love for animals, she came up with a furry friendly business. Critter Comfort Kennel was established on her rural property, just South of Fort St. John in 2009.

Leona has had years of experience and training with all types of animals and she definitely knows a thing or two about canines. She is certified in Canine Massage, Anatomy and Behaviour for Dogs, and is also a Reiki Master. The sense of calm that Leona exudes is felt by humans and animals alike.
